Now a bustling port for cruise ships – you can walk in the steps of Admiral Horatio Nelson in this wonderful place. Picture this – white sands, golden sunshine and beguiling blue water, that’s exactly what you’ll be surrounded by. Take a stroll to St. John’s where you can mingle with the Antiguans and check out the local shops. Comfortable flat shoes are ideal as you wander around this terrain and don’t forget your sun cream.
Christopher Columbus is said to have fallen in love with this beautiful island and so much so, he named it after St. Christopher, the patron saint of travellers. Later the name was shortened by British sailors to St. Kitts. The lush rainforests here surround a dormant volcano named Mount Liamuiga and are home to some very colourful birds and butterflies. Take a walk around St. Kitts cruise terminal and marina complex where you can find a collection of shops, bars, restaurants and gardens.
Known as one of the world’s prettiest harbours, Grenada is shaped like a horseshoe and set in a volcanic crater. Take to the beach to view a three-kilometre stretch of pure white sand, complete with palm trees and beautiful blue sea. Famous for it’s production of spices, Grenada is known as ‘Spice Isle’ making this port a really fantastic spot for you to chill out, eat and soak up the rays.
