Well-known for its white sandy beaches, it is a popular stop for cruise ships and duty-free shopping. Located southeast of Tenerife this beautiful island is a big draw for hikers due to its deserts and mountains, coastal paths and valleys. There is lots to do if you are looking for culture, including Casa Museo de Colon – Columbus Museum or you can explore the botanical gardens where there are 2,500 tropical plants to enjoy at Jardin Botanico Viera y Clavijo or Jardin de La Marquesa.
Being the fourth-largest island in the Canary Islands, Lanzarote is known for it’s all-year round warmth. There is so much to see and do and has some stunning cultural centres including museums and art galleries. The beaches vary from black rocks through to fine white sand – definitely a must for all you beach lovers.
A popular tourist attraction, Madeira has many visitors each year. There are some beautiful landscapes and botanical gardens for you to roam and if you want to make the most of this fantastic island you may like to hop onboard the cable car and be whisked up to 1,837 feet above Madeira. A must is to try the local wine and at Funchal’s wine lodge you can sample a range of vintages. Chin chin!
