* The order of the itinerary may differ depending on your chosen departure date and airport.
Day 1 – Newcastle, England

Departs: 16:00

This buzzing metropolis in the North of England is where you begin your journey. Newcastle is a city of culture with plenty of museums, art galleries and restaurants to explore.

If you arrive into the city early, you may wish to do a spot of last minute shopping at Eldon Square, pay a visit to Jesmond Dene, or perhaps just grab a bite to eat at one of many delicious restaurants.

Take your pick from The Botanist, Miller & Carter Steakhouse or The Alchemist which always feels like a treat! Or for those with less time, Newcastle boasts its very own Five Guys and Tortilla for those grab and go bites.

Day 2 – At sea

Take full advantage of the services and entertainment on board Marella Explorer. She offers 10 restaurants and 10 bars including fleet favourites like Snack Shack and Kora La, plus brand new spaces like The Dining Club and Indigo - a contemporary bar, club and casino. There's also a cinema and Champneys Spa to indulge in everything from body-balancing acupuncture and slimming treatments to body wraps and facials.

Day 3 – Olden, Norway

Time in port: 08:00 – 17:00

The first destination on your Wonders of the Fjords cruise is this tranquil Norwegian village. It dates back to the 18th-century and is best known as the gateway to the gleaming Briksdalsbreen Glacier, one of Norway's most famous glaciers. Olden Lake is also a beautiful body of water with a unique green appearance, the result of a substance called ‘glacier milk’.

Day 4 – Alesund, Norway

Time in port: 08:00 – 17:00

In 1904, the town of Alesund was completely destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style, and its colourful houses and turrets make for a magical location that is one of the true wonders of the fjords. It's also set across several islands with the Sunnmore Alps as an epic neighbouring location. Get your culture fix at the Art Nouveau Centre, outlining Alesund’s architectural history. It's also worth the hike of 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla, where you'll be rewarded with great views of the town.

Day 5 – Geiranger, Norway

Time in port: 08:00 – 16:00

With colourful houses dotting the landscape, this village in western Norway has been given UNESCO World Heritage Site status for its scenery alone. Here, you'll be able to get back to nature with plenty of waterfalls, fjord farms and lakes to explore. It's also worth visiting the 300-year-old Herdal Home Farm, one of the largest summer farms in Norway where you can sample a local delicacy of brown and white goat's cheese and goat's milk caramels.

Day 6 – Flåm, Norway

Time in port: 08:00 – 18:00

In Norwegian, the word 'Flåm' means ‘little place between mountains’. This sums up this small town perfectly as Flåm is cradled in a deep tributary of the Sognefjord, the world’s longest and deepest fjord. Take a ride on the world’s steepest railway, The Flåmsbana which travels to 865 metres above sea level, not for the faint-hearted! It's also worth stopping for coffee with epic views at the Stalheim Hotel, an historic building located at the top of the Naeroy Valley that shows off the wonders of the fjords.

Day 7 – At sea

There's plenty of entertainment for the whole family on board Marella Explorer. Not only does she have the biggest ever Broadway Show Lounge with a capacity of 1,000 people and 12 new shows, she also boasts a cinema and the all new Indigo Bar, club and casino. Alternatively, you can listen to live music in The Lounge, a stylish space with a bright-pink piano and colour-changing bar. Admire the views while listening to a live pianist before dinner at one of the 10 restaurants.
