About This Ship

Sailing onboard Marella Dream is so much more than lounging by the pool or sampling cocktails at the bar. Tastefully designed and packed with activities, the dining onboard this ship alone could fill your voyage with a new dish every day. Begin your days at the Coffee Port for a jolt to the senses, then round off at Orion’s for stylish multicultural fare or hot stone steaks at the open-air Terrace Grill. There’s also Kora La to consider, a new addition specialising in pan-Asian flavours.

If you’re sailing with the family, the kids are certain to be swept up into adventure. They get their own pool, as well as a stage school where they can tread the boards and learn some theatrics. Restaurants throughout the ship have plenty of options for little ones, and the Kids’ Club has age-specific activities that flex creative muscles and inspire future friendships. A cruise onboard this vessel promises to enrich your little ones as much as it entertains them.

The decks of Marella Dream afford splendid views of your surroundings, from an ocean sunset to the next exotic getaway on the horizon. In terms of after-dark fun, you’re spoilt for choice, thanks to the musicals and tribute acts of the two-storey Broadway Show Lounge.

A more low-key experience can be had over the tickled ivories of the easy-going Tides Lounge at the cruise ship’s heart, or for something a little more exerting, upbeat dancing and drinking is what you’ll find at The Water’s Edge, the onboard nightclub.

To rejuvenate the mind and body alike, the spa, saunas and the gymnasium all appeal too, making Marella Dream the perfect cruise ship for those of you looking to relax and unwind after a pleasant day at port.

Marella Cruises don’t think tips and service charges should cost you extra, so they've included them in the price. You’re not expected to tip any of their crew – unless you want to, of course.

Plenty of space and a brilliant selection of facilities - that's what you can expect on Marella Dream. The restaurants, lounges and bars have been treated to a stylish makeover. As for the entertainment, plush show lounge sets the scene for glam West End-style shows and UK comedy acts. Elsewhere, there’s plenty of room for live music and daytime games for the whole family.

Deck 8

What's inside:

Deck 8 onboard Marella Dream is where it’s all happening! There’s so much to do – from catching a show at the Broadway Show Lounge to pampering yourself at the Oceans Spa and Beauty Salon.

It’s also home to handy areas like Reception and Destination Services. There’s a team of friendly staff manning reception 24/7, so there’s always someone to answer your query or have something sorted out.

To get the most out of the ports on your itinerary, head to Destination Services. The team here can help you by providing maps and handy info on the destinations you’re set to visit, as well as booking excursions for you or giving you guidance if you’re exploring places on your own.

Mostly, this deck is all about entertainment and relaxation. It’s got a variety of bars and lounges for you to choose from, all with their own unique atmosphere.

Looking for somewhere quiet to enjoy a coffee and partake in a bit chit-chat? The Explorers’ Lounge is located mid-ship and is the perfect for some downtime.

The Coffee Port is located inside this lounge, serving the likes of cappuccinos, cake and ice-cream. At night however, it becomes a cool cocktail corner!

It’s one of the ship’s Wi-Fi zones too, so you can check in with the family back home or upload a sneaky holiday pic. By night, you’ll be treated to the sounds of the resident pianist tinkling the piano.

Also situated nearby is Tides, a convenient place to meet new-found friends. Singer soloists frequent here on an evening to get you up and moving on the dance floor, and there’s a grand piano here too for good measure.

Next to Tides on Deck 8 is the Card Room. If you fancy challenging your partner to a game of Scrabble or perhaps your friends to a bit of Trivial Pursuit, this is the place to go.

Also located mid-ship is Browser’s Corner. Dark-wood panelling makes for a sophisticated library feel, and you’ll find the shelves adorned with a variety of books for you to read.

There’s also daily Sudoku challenges and jigsaws available, as well as PCs and Wi-Fi so you can go online.

At the very back of the ship on Deck 8 is The Water’s Edge, a chic bar that’s open day and night. It has a stylish outdoor terrace, where you can take in stunning ocean views with your favourite cocktail at hand.

By night however, this lounge is home to a late night disco and casino. Head here for post-dinner drinks before having a flutter on the roulette table.

When it’s time to pamper yourself, the Oceans Spa and Beauty Salon is at the ready with a line-up of treatments. Go for a new hairdo or unwind with a mineral mud wrap and massage. It’s just heavenly!

This Kids’ Club is also on Deck 8. Open for three to 11 year olds, little ones can expect all sorts of fun from arts and crafts to movie nights and pyjama parties. There’s even-mocktail making sessions!

Adjacent to the Kids’ Club are 10 cabins – the only ones on this deck – nine of which are Balcony Cabins and one that’s a Single Balcony Cabin.

These are the only Balcony Cabins on the ship – aside from the Suites – and they’re right in the heart of the ship. If you’re wanting a cabin that’s only a stroll away from most of the facilities on the ship – these cabins are the way to go.

The balconies are kitted out with comfy chairs and a table, so you can rewind in the comfort of your own space and enjoy watching the world go by as you sail from one destination to the next.

Along from these cabins you’ll find the Broad Street Shops – from jewellery to fashion and cosmetics, there’s always something to tempt you in these boutiques. And with up to 50% savings on selected lines, it’d be rude not to!

The Photo Gallery is nearby too, which is the place to go to purchase any memorable photos you’ve had taken whilst on your cruise. The only trouble is deciding which ones to keep!

At the front of the ship on Deck 8 you’ve got the ever-popular Medusa Bar and Lounge. Being Marella Dream’s biggest lounge, you can expect something a little extra special.

Floor-to-ceiling windows invite you in, with live bands and spotlight cabaret taking centre stage. Get ready for activities such as bingo and game shows too, with a dance floor in prime position for when you’re ready to have a little boogie.

And last, but by no means least, you’ll find the Broadway Show Lounge at the very front of this deck. Set across two storeys, entertainment really comes to life here.

Prepare to be blown away by catchy musicals, comedy shows and UK guest acts. There’s two shows every night – one early and one late – that can vary from West-End style numbers to classic eighties sing-alongs.

One thing’s for sure – there’s never a dull moment on this deck!

12. Help, I’m cruising solo

Not to worry! Cruising is a fantastic way to travel for anyone heading off on their own, as you’ll make friends onboard in no time!

Marella Dream has its very own Social Hostess onboard, who’s in charge of organising special events and meet ups for any solo cruisers onboard.

There’s also a variation of table arrangements in each restaurant, so you can dine with new people every night. No one is ever on their own on a cruise!

Plus, you’ll be in your very own Single Cabin, perfect for a comfortable stay during your cruise. The Single Cabins are usually located together in one area of the ship, so you’ll meet your neighbours who are travelling solo too!

15. How do I book shore excursions

Simply book your cruise – either online or over the phone – then take a look at the types of excursions you can do in your destination.

Then simply give us a call and tell us what kind of things you’d like to get up to. We’ll book it for you in a flash!

Alternatively you can wait until you’re onboard Marella Dream and visit Destination Services, which you’ll find on Deck 8.

The staff there will be able to provide you with handy maps and guides if you’re thinking of exploring a destination on your own, or they can book you onto one of the Marella Cruises excursions taking place. They can even book your next cruise too!
