About This Ship

Launched in 2017 to complement her sister ship, Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is one of the cruise line’s biggest ships. Highlights include ‘Movies by Moonlight’ on an evening beside one of two pools, or enjoying entertainment taking place in the opulent, five-deck-high atrium.

As All Inclusive comes as standard on Marella Discovery 2, you simply pay one price and get the majority of drinks, meals and activities all included – as well as flights and tips. Some of the excellent dining experiences you can try across seven onboard venues include eating with spectacular sea views in the main restaurant, 47˚. Ascend the sweeping double staircase to its Italian counterpart or sample south and east Asian cuisines at Kora La, like delicate curries and spiced seafood dishes.

After a leisurely dinner, wrap yourself under a blanket for an al fresco movie or take in a Broadway-style show at the lounge, with acts like Beatz Interactive mastering LED-lit dance routines. The choice of bars covers the Atrium Bar for bubbles and Venue for family time, with LED screens displaying interactive shows.

If you prefer something more hands-on, there’s always the gaming centre for adults and kids, a casino if you like a roll of the dice, and even a virtual reality experience that’ll leave you wowed!

If you’re an active traveller, challenge yourself on the rock-climbing wall or mini-golf course, workout at the gym or tread some laps on the jogging track. Older kids will love joining in, while there’s also the option to entertain any age of children at the kids’ clubs, baby centre or teen hangout. If you’re not travelling with little ones, try out the adults-only Veranda area for sunbathing – featuring out-of-this-world ocean views, of course.

Having over 20 grades of cabin available means you can get exactly what you want from your accommodation – be it an affordable base, balcony views, a room for all the family or a spot of luxury. Cabins and suites come with air-conditioning, flatscreen TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities as standard. For the cruise adventure of a lifetime, Marella Discovery 2 is the perfect cruising companion.

Marella Cruises don’t think tips and service charges should cost you extra, so they've included them in the price. You’re not expected to tip any of their crew – unless you want to, of course.

Marella Discovery 2 is the sister ship to Marella Discovery – and this is why their names are so similar. Having two ships means you’re able to pair a wider choice of itineraries with the exciting features offered by this larger, more contemporary style of vessel. These include an outdoor cinema, a rock climbing wall, a minigolf course, an indoor pool and a glossy atrium. Not to mention the range of bars, excellent dining scene and night-time shows enhanced by up-to-the-minute technology. Just like Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is All Inclusive as standard. So, drinks, including prosecco and cider, meals in a selection of restaurants and most onboard activities are included in the cruise price. Flights and tips are both part of the package, too.

Deck 2

What's inside:

Deck 2 onboard Marella Discovery 2 is home to various types of accommodation. It’s the lowest deck on the ship – which if you didn’t know, is a great place to be if you’re at all worried about sea sickness. The lower and more central you are on the ship – the less likely you are to feel any movement.

It’s always good to try and pick a cabin that will suit your preferences. If you opt for a cabin at the back of the ship, you’ll be within easy reach of the ship’s main dining venue - 47°.

If you’re cruising as a family you might want to select a cabin at the front of the ship on this deck, meaning you only need to hop in an elevator to reach fabulous family facilities like the Kids’ Club and The Hideout.

The majority of cabins on this deck are the Outside Cabins. They span from the back of the ship to the very front, so it’s completely up to you which end you’d like to be situated.

They come in a variety of berths – most accommodating two people, with there being some that can fit up to four, thanks to upper berths that fold down for extra sleeping space. They feature a picture window or porthole – so you’ll get to see your new destination from the get-go – and measure in at 14 m².

Then there’s the Inside Cabins. Most of these are two-berth cabins, however there are a handful that can accommodate up to four people, with fold-down beds. They’re a great base for your cruising holiday and are perfect if you’re looking for a bargain – they’re usually the cheapest cabins.

There’s also a handful of adapted cabins on this deck too – three Adapted Inside Cabins and three Adapted Outside Cabins. These both come with additional space so that you can manoeuvre a wheelchair around with ease.
