Ports visited*

* The order of the itinerary may differ depending on your chosen departure date and airport.
Day 1 – Montego Bay, Jamaica

Departs: 20:00

You'll begin your journey in Montego Bay, home to palm-fringed beaches and buzzing nightlife full of reggae bars and Caribbean restaurants. Sangster's International Airport is about a 16 minute drive to the cruise port. Your transfers are included with Marella Cruises, so you'll be onboard in no time.

If you have some time to spare before departure, take a quick taxi downtown to bit of local sightseeing.

Rose Hall is one of the island’s first plantation houses, and the locals swear it’s haunted by its former owner, the White Witch. The Dunn’s River Falls are also worth visiting – these waterfalls look like a giant flight of steps, so the best way to get to the top is by holding the hands of fellow tourists and walking as a human chain. If you're a nature lover, there's also Montego Bay Crocodile Nursery, where you can witness little hatchlings being fed.

Day 2 – At sea

On the second day of your trip you can take advantage of the luxurious facilities on board Marella Discovery 2. She boasts seven restaurants, seven bars, two pools and 11 decks. Delight your tastebuds in Surf & Turf Steakhouse, serving up lobster and delicious cuts of steak, before attending an evening performance at the Broadway Show Lounge. If movies are your thing, there's even an open air cinema offering great films, blankets, popcorn and hot chocolate.

Day 3 – Roatan, Honduras

Time in port: 07:00 - 18:00

Think pristine white-sand beaches, coconut palms and rainforests that beckon to be explored. Snorkellers will love exploring the various shipwrecks, coral gardens and unique sea creatures native to this part of the world.

Take a trip to the Roatan Butterfly Farm, where you'll find hundreds of exotic butterflies and rainbow-coloured birds, before taking a wander through Gumbalina Park, home to gardens, waterfalls and resident monkeys. Adrenaline junkies will love ziplining through jungle canopies in the area, too. After a long day trip, snap up some locally-made cigars and handicrafts on the way back to the next stage of your Exotic Explorer cruise.

Day 4 – Santo Tomás De Castilla, Guatemala

Time in port: 08:00 - 18:00

Visit the biggest port on Guatemala’s eastern coast to get your shopping fix with a variety of malls and local street vendors selling traditional fare. While there aren't any beaches in the area, you will find plenty of boat trips to ferry you around the coastline. Enjoy Santo Tomás de Castilla’s wild side at Las Escobas – a glass-like river where waterfalls tumble into a tucked-away stream, making it a great place for swimming and wildlife spotting.

Day 5 – Belize City, Belize

Time in port: 07:00 – 18:00

Step back in time on your fifth day and marvel at the most epic of Mayan ruins at the Lamani Temples. Concealed by tropical jungle, the site has more than 800 ancient structures, including temples and pyramids.

If you're a water baby, there's also plenty of scuba diving and snorkelling opportunities in this part of the world. Warm azure waters and a 150-mile barrier reef are just waiting to be discovered. You can also take a cruise along the New River - keep your camera handy for crocodiles, exotic birds and monkeys!

Day 6 – Costa Maya, Mexico

Time in port: 08:00 – 18:00

Continue your historical journey on Mexico's south-east coast by visiting the 4th-century Chacchoben ruins hidden deep in the jungle. Don’t miss the trio of pyramids at the heart of the site. Another lesser-known Mayan site is Kohunlich, with giant masks carved into its temple walls.

Costa Maya really is a picture postcard destination, and home to the world’s second-biggest barrier reef, great for those wanting to get stuck into some snorkelling. Turtles and tropical fish swim among the corals and sponges, and wrecks of sunken ships wait to be explored.

Day 7 – At sea

It's time to kick back and relax onboard Marella Discovery 2. Indulge in some pampering in the Oceans Spa and Beauty Salon, take a dip in the indoor and outdoor pools, or enjoy some low key entertainment in the Atrium. Kids and teens will be kept entertained too, with a rock climbing wall, baby centre, hideout and Splash Live programme to keep them busy.

Day 8 – Montago Bay, Jamaica

Arrives: 08:00 – 20:00

After a week of being an exotic explorer, it's time to head back to Jamaica, with a ton of memories to treasure forever. All that's left to do is book your next cruise.
