* The order of the itinerary may differ depending on your chosen departure date and airport.
Day 1-2 – Langkawi, Malaysia

Departs: 16:00 (day 2)

Langkawi is a Malaysian island characterised by its laid-back atmosphere, forested mountains and white sand beaches.

When you arrive, you’ll take a free TUI transfer to your ship.

You have a whole day to explore before Marella Discovery sets sail. Be sure to make the 50 minute car journey to experience Langkawi Cable Cars. Travel all the way up to Gunung Mountain for gorgeous views over the surrounding area.

Day 3 – Penang, Malaysia

Time in Port: 08:00 – 16:00

The next stop on your Enchanting Far East 1 itinerary is Penang, one of Malaysia’s most popular islands.

You’ll disembark at multicultural Georgetown, a city renowned for its food scene. Wonderfood Museum is less than a 10-minute walk from port, and the nearby Macalister Street is renowned for its Malaysian restaurants and hawker stalls.

If you want to travel further afield, take a guided tour of Penang Island by coach or rickshaw.

Day 4 – Port Klang (for Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia

Time in Port: 08:00 – 19:00

There’s little to see within walking distance of Port Klang, so a shore excursion is recommended.

Spend the day with the Mah Meri tribe at a cultural village on a nearby island. Watch a ceremonial dance and learn about their traditional way of life. Or take a 90-minute journey to the dynamic city of Kaula Lumpur, where glass skyscrapers sit alongside traditional markets.

Day 5 – Singapore, Singapore

Time in Port: 08:00 – 20:00

The city of Singapore has an old-meets-new skyline, comprised of colonial buildings, temples and gleaming skyscrapers.

Singapore is a big city, so the best way to experience it is on a guided tour. The shore excursions will take you to districts such as Little India and China Town, as well as making a stop at Singapore’s impressive Botanic Gardens.

Day 6 – At Sea

Unwind onboard Marella Discovery on your first day at sea. Lounge by the pool - either outside or in! Why not visit Oceans Spa for a massage or a beauty treatment, you are on holiday after all.

In the evening, visit ‘Movies by Moonlight’ and enjoy a classic movie or latest blockbuster right underneath the stars.

Day 7 – Koh Samui, Thailand

Time in Port: 07:00 – 17:00

If you’re a beach lover, Koh Samui will be the highlight of your Enchanting Far East 1 cruise. This island is surrounded by white-sand bays and lapped by aquamarine waters.

Take a transfer to Chaweng Beach to sip fresh coconuts or try out some watersports. Foodies should opt for the cooking class at Nora Resort, where you’ll learn how to make Thailand’s most popular dishes.

Day 8-9 – Laem Chabang (for Bangkok, Thailand)

Time in Port: 06:00 (day 1) – 16:00 (day 2)

Laem Chabang is 45 minutes from party resort Pattaya and 2 hours from the capital city, Bangkok. You’ll have plenty of time to explore both, since you’ll be docked for two days.

Take a tour of Bangkok’s temples and markets by day or after hours. We particularly recommend a moonlit dinner cruise on a barge serving delicious Thai classics, such as fragrant massaman curry.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you could head to Pattaya for evening drinks. Take a public bus or hire a tuk tuk taxi from port.

Day 10 – Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Time in Port: 07:00 – 21:00

Sihanoukville is a lively city on the Cambodian coastline. Ochheuteal Beach, a 30-minute taxi ride away, is known for its beachfront barbecue shacks and bars. Lounge on the sugar-white sand or try out some watersports.

To learn about Cambodian culture, take a tour of the area. You’ll visit local markets and villages, as well as the gilded Wat Leu Temple.

Day 11 – At Sea

There are plenty of activities to keep you busy on Marella Discovery. Check out the outdoor climbing wall, or play a round of mini-golf.

With seven restaurants, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The Main Restaurant is spread over two floors. Tuck into refined multi-course meals, and make good use of being All Inclusive.

Day 12 – Phú My (for Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

Time in Port: 07:00 – 18:00

This port is the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, a 90-minute drive away. You can take a return transfer to the city centre and explore on your own or book a guided tour.

You’ll see the highlights of Ho Chi Minh City – the Notre Dame Cathedral, a local market and the War Remnants Museum.

Another option is to take a trip to Vung Tau City, where you’ll visit a Buddhist Temple and relax on a private beach.

Day 13 – At Sea

Even on your third day at sea, you’ll still find new things to do. Have a flutter at the casino or check out the video arcade.

Enjoy a drink in Bar Eleven, followed by a West-End style show in the Broadway Show Lounge.

Day 14 – Malacca, Malaysia

Time in Port: 07:00 – 14:00

Pint-sized Malacca is a UNESCO designated town easily explored on foot. You’ll be tendered ashore on smaller boats, and dropped right in the centre of the action.

Visit the Upside Down House Gallery, where the furniture’s glued to the ceiling, or head to Jonker Walk, where you’ll find some of Malaysia’s best food. Guided excursions are available too.

Day 15 – Langkawi, Malaysia

Arrives: 06:00

The final stop of your Enchanting Far East 1 Itinerary is Langkawi. You’ll depart for England with lots of memories, and a desire to come back East soon!
