Day 1 – Newcastle, England

Departs: 16:00

Your Electric Sunsets Cruise Back To The 90's conveniently departs from Newcastle at 4pm.

If you do arrive to the city early you can decide to take in some local sites. Visit the largest contemporary art institution of its kind, the BALTIC Centre For Contemporary Art.

If you'd prefer, you could even do a spot of shopping at Eldon Square or work your way around some of Newcastles bars. Famous for it's nightlife, having a little tipple or two is certain to get you in the mood for your first night sailing! - Just be sure to make it onto the ship in good time.

 

Day 2 – IJmuiden (for Amsterdam), Netherlands

Time in port: 10:00 – 19:00

You may be having too much fun onboard but if you wish to disembark, Amsterdam is full of cultural delights well worth visiting.

From your arrival in IJmuiden, a quaint little town set on beautiful, long beaches dotted with surfers and fishermen, it’s just a 30 minute drive to Amsterdam.

Criss-crossed with bridges and canals, it’s no surprise Holland’s capital is often referred to as Little Venice.

Step off your ship and onto a river boat to experience Amsterdam in the best way. Famous for its shimmering canals, you’ll be taken on a panoramic tour that ticks off a bunch of top sights.

You wont want to miss a visit to Anne Frank’s house! One of the top tourist spots, her tiny annex and secret hideout during the Second World War is a wonder to behold. - It's best to book tickets before hand to avoid any lengthy queues!

Be sure to save some energy, Marella Explorer will be set on your return for another fun filled 90's evening that you wont want to miss out on.

 

 

Day 3 – Zeebrugge (for Bruges), Belgium

Time in port: 8:00 – 17:00

Next on your Electric Sunsets Cruise Back To The 90's itinerary is Zeebrugge.

It's worth pulling yourself away from the fun onboard to take a 15 minute train into the centre of Bruges.

The central Market Square has horse-drawn carriages waiting on the side of its main piazza, lined with outdoor cafés. You won’t miss its centrepiece, the Gothic bell-tower housing 48 bells. Climb all 366 steps in the tower for magnificent views from the top.

The beautiful Burg Square is the city’s historic heart. There’s the elaborate Stadhuis (town hall) and once you start wandering down its cobbled side streets, there’s a medieval sight everywhere you look.

You won’t be able to resist the world-famous chocolate made here. There’s more than 50 shops selling it in every flavour. Try chocolate infused with curry, a chilli truffle or peppermint praline. There’s even a Chocolate Museum where you can learn how Belgium manages to make it taste so good.

Bruges is also within easy reach of the First World War battlefields, cemeteries and memorials. Take a tour to the award-winning In Flanders Field Museum in Ypres, one hour away. Its human stories of the Great War in the Ypres region, expressed through songs, letters and poems, will give you an insight that is both moving and unforgettable.

After a day spent sightseeing, be ready in your best 90's gear for another evening of special guest stars!

Day 4 – Southampton, England

Arrives: 06:00

You'll arrive to Southampton in the early morning.

After a amazing weekend pretending you were back in the 90's, you may be all partied out! However if you wish, you can always plan time to explore this busy port city. Its harbour hosts a large shopping complex, and its attractions include an interactive model of the Titanic and the biggest working steamship in Britain.
