Day 1 – Langkawi, Malaysia

Departs: 16:00

With a departure time of 4pm, you may have some time to explore Langkawi depending on your flight time. Transfers are included, it will take just under half an hour to drive you to your ship.

If you can, take a trip to experience the Langkawi Cable Car up to Gunung Mountain. If you’re feeling extra brave, walk along Langkawi Sky Bridge high up in the forest overlooking the lush canopy.

Day 2 – At sea

Enjoy All Inclusive on Marella Discovery, where your Eastern Sunsets 2 journey begins. There’s so much choice on offer, with seven restaurants and a full schedule of entertainment. You can even keep up your fitness regime with the Oceans gym, rock climbing wall and jogging track.

Day 3 – Port Blair, Andaman Islands

Time in port: 08:00-18:00

Port Blair is full of surprises, beyond the obvious charms of its white-sand beaches. Samudrika Marine Museum and Mini Zoo are all within a 10-minute drive of the port and are great places to learn more about the local wildlife. Take a tuk tuk down to Aberdeen Bazaar to buy some locally-made items and enjoy the bustling atmosphere.

Day 4-5 – At sea

Spending two days at sea means more than enough time to explore the facilities onboard your ship. Why not try the Surf & Turf Steakhouse for a hearty evening meal? Or find something a bit lighter at The Glass House restaurant. Days can be spent relaxing by the pool, enjoying an escape-room experience, or shopping to your heart’s content at the Broad Street Shops.

Day 6 – Colombo, Sri Lanka

Time in port: 08:00-17:00

The next stop on the Eastern Sunsets 2 itinerary is enchanting Colombo. The city centre is just a 10-minute drive from the port, so you’ll be exploring temples, skyscrapers and colonial buildings in no time. After a long day of sightseeing, head to Viharamahadevi Park for some peace and quiet in leafy and picturesque surroundings.

Day 7-8 – Cochin, Kerala

Arrive in port: 06:00 (Day 7)

Depart from port: 18:00 (Day 8)

The buildings and features of the landscape around Cochin showcase all the different cultures that have influenced the city. You’re as likely to see Portuguese churches here as you are Chinese fishing nets that cover the surface of the water at Fort Kochi beach. Visit St Francis Church, which was the first European church in India, built in 1500.

Day 9 – Mangalore, India

Time in port: 08:00-17:00

The Mangalore region of India is famous for its cashew factories, so a visit to the one in the city is an obvious choice. Buy a bag or two of the nuts before heading to Gokarnanatheshwara Temple to marvel at its ornate structure. Explore rambling pineapple plant orchards at Soans Farm before enjoying a traditional meal for lunch, such as mutton stew.

Day 10 – Mormugao, Goa

Time in port: 08:00-18:00

One of the most idyllic destinations on Asia cruises is the island of Goa. The port of Mormugao is a great gateway to many other destinations too, such as the state capital of Panjim, which is within an hour’s drive. Here you can stroll around cobbled streets full of Portuguese colonial buildings and cosmopolitan culture. Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church is one of the most stunning must-sees.

Day 11 – Mumbai, India

Time in port: 09:00-19:00

It’s just a 10-minute drive from the port at Mumbai to its exciting city centre. Like so many of the other destinations included on the Eastern Sunsets 2 itinerary, it’s a blend of eastern and western influences.

The best place to soak up the unique feel of Mumbai is via a market, and you’re not short on options. Fashion Street is home to numerous stalls selling artisan items, while Chor Bazaar is full of vintage wares. Architectural highlights include Rajabai Clock Tower, the Hanging Garden and the World Trade Centre.

Day 12-13 – At sea

These are the last days you’ll spend at sea, so make the most of the time available. If you haven’t already tried them, catch some evening entertainment in the Broadway Show Lounge or enjoy an open-air cinema experience with Movies by Moonlight.

Day 14-15 – Port Rashid (for Dubai), Dubai and Emirates

Arrive in port: 06:00 (Day 14)

Your Eastern Sunsets 2 journey comes to an end in Port Rashid. Take the 25-minute journey to Dubai and spend some hours living in luxury before heading home with a wealth of memories.
