Day 1 – Dubrovnik, Croatia

Departs: 20:00

One of Croatia’s most renowned hot-spots, Dubrovnik is simply breath-taking. View ancient city walls and cobbled pedestrian Old Town - which is in fact a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Already bundled full of culture, Dubrovnik has found further fame as fictional location “King’s Landing” within HBO’s Game of Thrones. – There’s even excursions tailored to fans visiting the most iconic settings from the series.

See the best of “The Pearl of the Adriatic” with Marella Cruises. Walk beneath the beauty of those terracotta rooftops and see those stunningly preserved Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque style churches, palaces, fountains and monasteries!

For an experience that’s a little bit different, you can explore Dubrovnik’s city walls by kayak or even take a cable car up the side of Mount Srd to get those panoramic views.

Day 2 – Hvar, Croatia

Time in port: 07:00 – 18:00

Hvar is Croatia’s most luxurious island, famous for its stunning vineyards, lavender fields and medieval hamlets.

Soak up the charming atmosphere that encapsulates Croatia in the islands sunniest spot. - It really is, Hvar gets around 2,724 sunny hours each year! You'll arrive here early so get all your sightseeing done on the morning. Temperatures aren’t as high so you’ll find the walk's much more comfortable!

Hvar is best explored on foot and Marella Cruises have expert guides ready and waiting to help you discover the sites. - In as little as 2 hours! Walk you through the cities narrow lanes and stop by the 15th century Franciscan monastery, St Stephens Catedral and Benedictine monastery.

Hvar Town is surrounded by swanky hotels and elegant restaurants, along with a very attractive waterfront promenade. Bask in that glorious sunshine and dine at Dalmatino’s – one of the best restaurants in Hvar. Offering delicious local cuisine, it’s only a short one minute stroll back to the cruise port!

Day 3 – Ancona, Italy

Time in port: 08:00 – 18:00

Day three brings you to the bustling harbour of Ancona. Known for its beaches and hilltop cathedral of San Cirianco, this stunning destination has went blissfully under the radar for many years.

Now yours to discover, its city is easily explored on foot in around 3 hours. Marella Cruises have their own expert led walking tour or you can just as easily go off on your own path.

For some less traditional sights, go further beneath the Ancona's surface and explore some of Italy’s most famous caves. The Frasassi Caves extend for around 30km over eight levels. This array of tunnels houses crystallised ponds, rocks and minerals like nothing you’ve ever witnessed! They’re around an hour from port and are nothing but fascinating.

Day 4 – Venice, Italy

Time in port: 08:00 – 23:59

The floating city of Venice invites you to trade your cruise ship for a gondola and marvel at it's astonishing maze of canals, restaurants and Venetian architecture.

In one of the worlds most renowned cities for romance, gondola trips, dinners at St Marks Square and strolls along the Bridge of Sighs are must do's for couples!

Plan lunch in the city - you won’t want to miss out on the variety of Bicari on offer! These delicious bites, otherwise known as cichetti; pronounced “chee-KET-eeh are Italy’s take on Spain’s tapas. - Best served with friends and wine!

Day 5 – Koper, Slovenia

Time in port: 09:00 – 19:00

The town of a hundred suns and Slovenia’s largest, this picturesque port is full of history and boasts one of the most stunning coasts.

This harbour town grew gradually, it was under it's Venetian ruling that a period of massive economic and cultural boom was established. Many Venetian influences are still recognisable today – making its architecture all so pretty.

For something a little more invigorating, we recommend biking the Parenzana Trail! An old railway line nowadays converted into a path of panoramic views.

Ride through old towns and villages along the coast. Witness the valleys, vineyards and olive plantations that are famous here. Suitable for anyone who can ride a bike, the trip takes around 5 hours and you’ll be collected straight from Koper port!

Day 6 – Rijeka, Croatia

Time in port: 08:00 – 17:00

The land of terracotta roofs continues here, Croatia’s third largest city welcomes you to discover it's colourful charm, Habsburg-era buildings and the only preserved cave castle in Europe!

The journey to Postojna from Rijeka takes less than an hour, so you’ll have more than enough time to explore. This fantastic web of tunnels is the only place in the world where the underground landscape can be navigated on an electric train. This ease of access makes the Postojna tunnels one of the most popular excursions for all.

Predjama castle reigns over surrounding grounds, its defiant, mysterious and beautifully picturesque. One for any couples, Lokva River disappears below the castle, providing a backdrop worthy of proposals!

Day 7 – Split, Croatia

Time in port: 08:00 – 17:00

Your final day before returning to Dubrovnik brings you to Split. A beautiful blend of ancient and modern, this city is full of life with a dozen of thriving shops, bars and restaurants amid its rustic old walls.

Diocletian’s Palace is nothing short of breath-taking. The setting of another UNESCO site, it’s said to be one of the most impressive Roman ruins. It's certainly the biggest sightseeing drawer in Split.

More of an adrenaline junky? Take on the Cetina River Zipline experience. Drink in the amazing views from 150 meters high. Whiz across eight different lines, jump from platforms situated 492 feet in the air and let the Croatian countryside dazzle you beyond all your expectations!

Day 8 – Dubrovnik, Croatia

Arrives: 05:00

After a week of nonstop locations you’ll arrive back into Dubrovnik early morning. We recommend speaking to destination services found on Deck 5 opposite the Explorers Lounge on Marella Celebration. Depending on your flight time, you may be able to organise one final excursion to see any sights of Dubrovnik you missed on your way out! – The best part, Marella Cruises' transport will then drop you direct to your departure airport, a perfect way to end a perfect cruise.
