La Coruna, Spain
A very impressive seafront, with its beautiful beaches and culture. Visit the Domus museum, Casa del Hombre – the House of Man, which is a very striking building and the first interactive museum in the world to be devoted to the human being. If you want to embrace the stunning views of La Coruna you may be interested in visiting Torre De Hercules which is said to be the only Roman lighthouse in existence – at 60 metres high, you’ll see for miles.
Getxo, Bilbao, Spain
This attractive seaside location is home to the UNESCO listed Vizcaya Bridge, the world’s oldest transport bridge. Getxo is mostly residential but there are some very interesting sights and good restaurants for you to enjoy. Nearby, Bilbao, is home to the world famous Guggenheim Museum, as well as the Museum of Fine Art and the 14th century Gothic-style cathedral, Bilbao really is about the culture.
La Pallice for La Rochelle, France
Founded in the 10th century, La Rochelle became an important harbour by the 12th century and has continued to flourish ever since. This place is charming and considered one of the best-preserved port towns in France. Take a walk around the town and explore the city’s landmarks at the old harbour and nearby city centre. Check out the impressive Three Towers or visit the huge aquarium – there is so much more than meets the eye.
