Saga Pearl II

The smallest of Saga Cruises’ two ships, you’ll enjoy an intimate atmosphere on this yacht-style vessel that’s exclusively for adults. The amount of features and outdoor space onboard, however, gives the feeling of a much bigger cruise experience.

About Saga Pearl II

Once you set off from Dover or Southampton, get to know the amiable staff before joining in at the sailaway party with free drinks. Throughout your Saga Cruises Mediterranean holiday, you’ll be extremely well looked after as for each passenger there are more than two staff members onboard.

The ship’s dining spaces all make use of local ingredients, so that your meals are always fresh and give you a flavour of the ports of call. Either choose sociable open seating or ask for a fixed table with friends in the main Dining Room or Verandah. The Chart and Ward Rooms offer a special menu where you can dine with the Captain or, for something more casual, afternoon tea is served every day.

Cabins are pleasingly spacious and bright for a small ship, with the option of inside or outside cabins, those for solo travellers, plus suites with a balcony and butler service for that extra special trip.

On sea days, Saga Pearl II is brimming with things to do, both leisurely and more active, as well as some once-in-a-lifetime opportunities on themed cruises – like appearances by celebrity dancers, TV stars, authors and Michelin-starred chefs. Each morning you’ll receive a programme detailing what you can do that day, from fitness classes to quizzes, painting to films.

Some activities are held every day, like the ‘walk a mile’ group on the deck. Or, if you prefer to take things at your own pace, head to the spa for a facial, get your hair done, use the gym or one of three pools. Up on the Sun Deck by the pools is an outdoor games area with tennis, quoits and shuffleboard or inside there’s a card room and library holding over 3000 books and DVDs.

Come evening time, the Discovery Lounge hosts entertainment from the ship’s own theatre group, as well as visiting performers. Or retire to one of three bars, such as the main bar Shackleton’s, where a pianist plays most nights.

Look out for our latest Saga Cruises offers to find the best deal on your next Saga Cruises holiday.

When you're not exploring ashore, you'll find so much to keep you busy around the ship. Inside and out, there are spaces to relax or get active.

Every morning a Daily Programme will be delivered to your cabin, listing all the activities on offer that day. But whether you want to do it all or simply relax into the laid-back pace of life on the ocean wave, they leave it up to you to decide how you enjoy your time.

As a ship reserved exclusively for adults, the atmosphere is always refined and relaxed: there are no kids’ areas or noisy games rooms, just plenty of entertainment and activities tailored for you. This often includes painting and photography classes, music recitals, talks, quizzes and films in the cinema. What will you choose?

The Discovery Lounge

Enjoy lively talks, presentations, dance classes and afternoon tea – that great cruising tradition – in the Discovery Lounge.

It’s also the venue for fun activities throughout the day, such as on themed cruises where you could find yourself enjoying cookery demonstrations from Michelin-starred chefs, a live interview with a TV star or author, or performances from celebrity dancers – every cruise is different!

You can also look forward to a programme of guests speakers on every cruise, experts who will offer insights into the upcoming destinations as well as the local history, culture and unmissable sights.

In the evenings, this lounge comes alive with dancing, shows from the ship's own theatre company, star guests, specially-invited musicians, classical recitals and a resident band, for a wide variety of entertainment each and every night.

Comfortable, well-designed seating means everyone can enjoy the show, while television screens dotted around the space offer a close-up view of the action on stage.

The Cinema

In the afternoons and evenings, you can head to the cinema in the middle of B deck. Here you can watch classic films and the very latest releases, sometimes even while they’re still in the multiplexes back home!

If you’re sailing on a ‘themed cruise’, the films will often reflect the flavour or era of the on-board entertainment too. Or if you’d prefer to watch in the comfort of your cabin, the same programme is also available on your own television.

The Sundowners Bar

Good sea views through picture windows and an outside seating area with a large TV for sporting events.

Shackletons

The ship's main bar with a live pianist and dance floor.
