Marella Explorer 2

The first ship in the fleet to be exclusively for adults, you can expect some pretty chic features that make sailing without the kids a total pleasure. She's the sister ship to Marella Explorer, so you can expect to see some similarities - but enough surprises to really set her apart.

About Marella Explorer 2

Marella Explorer 2 is the latest addition to the Marella Cruises fleet – and boy oh boy is she set to impress! Sailing from Summer 2019, she’s the sister ship to Marella Explorer – but with one big difference. She’s adult only!

Marella Explorer 2 oozes sophistication, from facilities like the Champneys Spa which boasts a sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows to the perfect sunbathing spot The Veranda, with stylish cocoon chairs and Balinese beds that make relaxing easier than ever. You can even order drinks straight to your lounger!

Dining

Her dining offering is no less impressive, with eight superb restaurants to choose from. From the tantalising flavours of The Mediterranean, where you’ll find pizza, tapas and Portuguese meat skewers, to the uber-cool Dining Club, where you’ll be treated to to high-end cuisine. Foodies will love it!

That’s without mentioning the Surf & Turf Steakhouse, the Snack Shack – the perfect place to grab a quick bite – and Kora La, where you’ll discover oriental flavours inspired by authentic Asia.

Drinks

And if you think the food sounds good, wait until you hear about the bars! With 10 places to enjoy your favourite tipple, you’ll have tried and tested every single item on the cocktail menu in no time. Did we mention All Inclusive comes as standard on this ship?

Enjoy British pub vibes in the Squid & Anchor, where you’ll find live bands, game machines, quiz nights and even a spot of karaoke. Venture to Apertif for pre-dinner sip of champagne or prosecco, or turn things up a notch by heading to Indigo Bar, where flare demonstrations and cocktail-making lessons take place. It’s also the perfect spot for soaking up 360 degree views, day or night.

And for the real party-goers, there’s the adjoining Indigo Club. Make sure you’ve got your dancing shoes on, as this is where you’ll find a dangerously-cool DJ booth, dancefloor and bar. And if your head’s feeling a little worse for wear the next morning, stop by the Coffee Port for your caffeine fix!

Entertainment

Catch a superb show in the Broadway Show Lounge, which even offers waiter service, meaning you won’t miss a minute of the action! The cinema serves up your favourite flicks, and there’s even a spot for mini-golf if you feel like starting a tournament with the family.

If shopping’s more your thing, you’ve got a whole selection of onboard boutiques at your fingertips selling all your favourite duty-free products. And if you think Lady Luck is on your side, try out the slot machines and card tables at the Indigo Casino. There’ll never be a dull moment!

Just like on Marella Explorer, Indigo is the ship’s flagship venue. It caters for daytime drinks with a view, as well as all-night dancing. A couple of other bars sort you out for laidback drinks, like the Squid and Anchor pub. For full-on glitz and glamour, the Broadway Show Lounge steps into view.

Broadway Show Lounge

This show lounge is big enough to rival a Broadway theatre. And that’s not all it’s got going for it. There are brand-new shows on offer, plus it’s waiter service, so you can get a drink without missing a thing.

Indigo Casino

If you’re feeling lucky, you can try out the slot machines and card tables at the Indigo Casino.

Indigo Club

You’ll find the club in the middle of Indigo. It flaunts a dancefloor and a DJ booth, as well as an extra bar.

Indigo Bar

Indigo lays claim to a huge bar, where flare demonstrations and cocktail-making sessions take place. There’s also plenty of seating for taking in the 360-degree views – day or night.

Bar @ The Mediterranean

If you’re after a quiet spot, this bar’s the one. You’ll find it outside The Mediterranean, and it’s the place to come for Mediterranean specialities and views of the horizon.

Squid & Anchor

This pub at sea is a modern take on a traditional British watering hole. As such, it’s got a decent range of draught beers and some outside space. Plus, this place is the home of a live band, quiz nights and a couple of gaming machines.

Atrium Bar

This bar caters to pre-dinner drinks, which you can sip to a background of low-key entertainment.

Apertif

Champagne and Prosecco are on the menu at this speakeasy-style bar. It’s a great spot to head before or after a meal at one of the speciality restaurants.

The Shack

This deck bar provides cool-down drinks in between sunbathing. You’ll find it at the back of the ship, so it’s got sweeping sea views.

The Veranda

Cocoon chairs and Balinese beds give The Veranda its luxe feel. It’s split over two decks, and you can order drinks straight to your lounger.

Pool Bar

Like the name suggests, this bar sits next to the pool, so it’s great for grabbing drinks and frozen cocktails.

The Coffee Port

This place sorts out caffeine fixes, with Lavazza coffee and sweet treats. A small charge applies here.

Photo Studio

Pop into the studio for a professional photoshoot. You’ll also find kiosks, where you can view and buy all the photos captured by our onboard photography team.

Broad Street Shops

When the ship’s at sea, it’s time to hit the shops. The onboard boutiques are stocked with everyday essentials and loads of duty-free products, including perfume, jewellery and souvenirs.

Each day onboard Marella Explorer 2 can be different. Unwind at the Champneys Spa, sunbathe by the pool or perfect your putt on the minigolf green – those are a few of the options. Just so you know, these facilities are subject to change and images are for illustrative purposes only.

Champneys Spa

Like at any other Champneys Spa, you can book in for treatments, like facials, body wraps and massages. Plus, there’s a beauty salon, a relaxation room, made-for-two suites and treatment cabins with hot tubs. There’s also a sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Pool

The pool is split in two by a small stage in the middle, and you can look forward to daily entertainment.

Whirlpools

Four whirlpool baths bubble away by the main pool.

You can work up a sweat with the sea in sight at the gym.
