Launched in 2017 to complement her sister ship, Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is one of the cruise line’s biggest ships. Highlights include ‘Movies by Moonlight’ on an evening beside one of two pools, or enjoying entertainment taking place in the opulent, five-deck-high atrium.
As All Inclusive comes as standard on Marella Discovery 2, you simply pay one price and get the majority of drinks, meals and activities all included – as well as flights and tips. Some of the excellent dining experiences you can try across seven onboard venues include eating with spectacular sea views in the main restaurant, 47˚. Ascend the sweeping double staircase to its Italian counterpart or sample south and east Asian cuisines at Kora La, like delicate curries and spiced seafood dishes.
After a leisurely dinner, wrap yourself under a blanket for an al fresco movie or take in a Broadway-style show at the lounge, with acts like Beatz Interactive mastering LED-lit dance routines. The choice of bars covers the Atrium Bar for bubbles and Squid & Anchor for family time, with LED screens displaying interactive shows.
If you prefer something more hands-on, there’s always the gaming centre for adults and kids, a casino if you like a roll of the dice, and even a virtual reality experience that’ll leave you wowed!
If you’re an active traveller, challenge yourself on the rock-climbing wall or mini-golf course, workout at the gym or tread some laps on the jogging track. Older kids will love joining in, while there’s also the option to entertain any age of children at the kids’ clubs, baby centre or teen hangout. If you’re not travelling with little ones, try out the adults-only Veranda area for sunbathing – featuring out-of-this-world ocean views, of course.
Having over 20 grades of cabin available means you can get exactly what you want from your accommodation – be it an affordable base, balcony views, a room for all the family or a spot of luxury. Cabins and suites come with air-conditioning, flatscreen TVs and tea and coffee-making facilities as standard. For the cruise adventure of a lifetime, Marella Discovery 2 is the perfect cruising companion.
Marella Cruises don’t think tips and service charges should cost you extra, so they've included them in the price. You’re not expected to tip any of their crew – unless you want to, of course.
Marella Discovery 2 is the sister ship to Marella Discovery – and this is why their names are so similar. Having two ships means you’re able to pair a wider choice of itineraries with the exciting features offered by this larger, more contemporary style of vessel. These include an outdoor cinema, a rock climbing wall, a minigolf course, an indoor pool and a glossy atrium. Not to mention the range of bars, excellent dining scene and night-time shows enhanced by up-to-the-minute technology. Just like Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is All Inclusive as standard. So, drinks, including prosecco and cider, meals in a selection of restaurants and most onboard activities are included in the cruise price. Flights and tips are both part of the package, too.
All cabins come with Air Conditioning, TV, Two full-length wardrobes, Hairdryer and a Safe (at a charge).
