Queen Mary 2, first launched in 2004, is considered to be among the most magnificent ocean liners ever built. This impressive ship sails with Cunard on luxury ocean cruises across Australasia, Africa and Europe and is staffed by over 1,200 people.
Built with grandeur in mind, she can home 2,620 passengers over 13 decks of chic, spacious cabins and suites. Room service is available, with a nightly turn down service, pillow chocolates and wine and fresh fruit available upon request. The duplex and royal suites are enormous, with spacious, beautifully decorated living quarters complete with large private balconies. There are even private room services available, including in-suite dining from the grill bar.
The ship offers a wide range of refreshments, including a pizzeria, an afternoon and high tea cafe, a grill and a carvery. Evening entertainment is a huge draw of Queen Mary 2 and a casino, a dance floor and a theatre are just a few of the options available. As part of the service, Cunard have a dedicated entertainment team onboard, ensuring something is available around the clock.
For a more relaxed time, yoga and spa massages are offered to passengers and an art gallery and library offer a peaceful chance at time alone. The planetarium and observation lounge give you the opportunity to take a look at the night sky, away from inland light pollution. There is a full set of swimming pools, with a separate splash pool, hot tub, terrace pool and steam room – so expect plenty of opportunities for fun, exercise and making the most of the sunshine.
Children are welcome onboard Queen Mary 2, with areas dedicated to their entertainment. The children’s club, play room and youth and teen centres give families the option to enjoy time doing what they want to do individually, as well as ample opportunity to spend quality time together.
The ship's fantastic Illuminations movie theatre also converts into the only planetarium at sea. Seating 150 guests, shows run approximately four times per sea day. Passengers can enjoy high-tech programmes, including astronomy shows and virtual reality movies underneath the impressive planetarium dome.

When the warm weather entices you onto the spacious Games Deck you’ll notice a definite English country garden ambience, with the gentle clunk of croquet balls in the welcome shade of its canopy. The games on offer include traditional cruise favourites such as shuffle-board, bowls, quoits, and paddle tennis, with occasional tournaments also taking place.

Cunard ConneXions offers a programme of activities all day every day from watercolour to computer lessons, wine tasting to ballroom dancing as well as bridge and board games.
The RADA actors offer guests the chance to share some of the training they received during their 3 years at the famous drama school. Each workshop lasts approximately 45 minutes.
For younger cruise passengers, there are a number of facilities available to keep them entertained. Running primarily during the school holidays, kids clubs are available for children or teens travelling on Queen Mary 2.
Open between 6pm – 11pm, the Night Nursery operates on a first come, first served basis. Providing trained childcare for 12-23 month olds, parents and grandparents can drop their little ones off and enjoy an evening to themselves.
Designed for 2-7's, Play Zone provides a supervised play area for some of Cunard’s youngest passengers. The club features arts and crafts, books, puzzles, toys and computer games.
