Virgin Voyages aren’t coming quietly! With a completely new take on cruising, Virgin Voyages are intent on providing an entirely different experience and that’s certainly the case with Scarlet Lady’s food choices.
Waving goodbye to old cruise ship custom, you’ll find no buffets, no main dining room and no chargeable dining in any of the 20-plus venues onboard their first ship, set to launch in 2020!
The line will also be doing away with forced formal wear, timed dining and assigned seating, although if you wish to share a plate with your fellow cruisers, that’s still fine too!
Virgin is breaking the mold with sights set on providing creative and culinary freedom to all of its cruisers!
Virgin Voyages are Adult-by-Design
Elevated dining experiences are to be expected from Sir Richard Branson’s new cruise line. Wishing to reflect the daily lives of its passengers, proposed dining plans mean you’ll be able to dine wherever and whenever you want!
Virgin Voyages have described their style as “Rebellious Luxe” with its unconventional nature basically handing the reigns over to you. Meals for 2 or party’s of 8, they’ll be space to satisfy all. Get glammed up or head in straight from the pool, simply do as you prefer whilst onboard Scarlet Lady.
There are no formalities to be ridden, restaurants will be open until late and some even into those early morning hours. Plus they’ll be bars in every restaurant – so go grab a drink or two or three… Before, after and in-between, the night’s are yours to do as you wish.
Made to order eats
Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group said: “There’s a Virgin twist on everything you’ll see aboard the Scarlet Lady, which means there will be no stuffy formalities, boring buffets and no main dining rooms.”
Instead the cruise line is making waves to significantly reduce its waste. On top of banning the use of single-use plastics, another reason for removing the traditional buffet is to cut down on food waste.
You’ll still be able to enjoy grab and go food throughout the day but from The Galley, a food court of styles – housing eight different shops and food carts plus a 24 hour american diner! Working more along the lines of fast food restaurants, it’ll still be super quick but made on request.
City life at sea
Virgin President and CEO Tom McAlpin said: “We want our eateries to delight and ignite serendipitous experiences, so have set out on a mission to capture the spirit of dining in the best cities of the world and bring it to sea.”
After asking potential cruisers which locations around the world made their hearts flutter and taste buds tingle, Scarlet Lady is set to have a medley of restaurants that wouldn’t look out of place in SoHo!
Virgin Voyages are taking great responsibility in your onboard meal times. These are always crucial parts of your day, and therefore need to be of a certain standard. Therefore Virgin Voyages have partnered with those who take on this same mindset of dining being more than just a daily necessary task!
