Thomson Cruises have finally revealed the name of their new and exciting ship – say hello to the seriously impressive TUI Explorer! Hitting the high seas in 2018, she’ll be the largest in her fleet. And with even more bars, restaurants and first-class entertainment to indulge in – Thomson Cruises really have pulled it out of the bag once again.

Sailings on this voluptuous vessel go on sale later this month, with her home port residing in the sunny delight of Palma, Majorca, where she’ll take you on dream sailings to the highlights of the Med. Following in the footsteps on her sister ships – TUI Discovery and TUI Discovery 2, she’ll be All Inclusive as a standard – cheers to that!

Managing Director of Thomson Cruises, Richard Sofer, said: “I’m delighted to unveil the name of TUI Explorer, our biggest and most exciting ship yet. As part of our continued modernisation and transformation strategy, and our commitment to offering choice and flexibility, we’ve created a whole host of new spaces onboard to meet our customers’ needs. We’ve got ten restaurants and ten bars, as well as more onboard activities and spaces for families including an indoor cinema and a fantastic new Kids’ Club with children’s pool and slide. I’m also really excited about our new flagship entertainment venue, Indigo – a huge space with incredible ocean views, sat right at the top of the ship.”

What’s new?

With a new ship comes exciting new features – and Thomson Cruises have went all out, with 10 dining venues, 2 new cabin types and more choice, space and flexibility than ever before.

Bars & Restaurants

The new feature bar, Indigo, will be in prime position at the top of the ship where you’ll find the most stunning views of the ocean – so enjoy your favourite cocktail with a view. At night, it’ll turn into a casino and nightclub – giving you the option to try your luck or dance the night away. You’ll want to grab pre-dinner drinks in the speakeasy-style bar, and Scoops is the place to be for the perfect ice-cream – it even has quirky bicycle themed seats! Sit back, relax and watch as the bar changes colour in The Lounge.

Umi Sushi will be a new and impressive sushi counter,  and The Mediterranean – a dining area featuring a glass roof inspired by open air terraces and local tavernas – will feature two inclusive restaurants, a pizzeria and tapas eatery.

Cabins

TUI Explorer will include 14 family balcony cabins , sleeping up to five people and a balcony of up to 9m². A standard cabin onboard TUI Explorer will be bigger and better than anything previously seen on the rest of the fleet, with 16m² rooms – providing you with plenty of space and comfort.

Spa

The Spa is more luxurious than ever – with eleven different areas, including floor to ceiling windows, a couples room for his n’ hers massages, as well as two luxury treatment suites. The Veranda will be an adults-only hangout with padded sun loungers, pod chairs and day beds – the perfect chance to catch up on some well-deserved R&R.

Exciting news

Thomson Cruises are continuing to add to the TUI fleet ahead of their re-brand, which sees Thomson transitioning to TUI later this year – which means we can expect another addition to the growing TUI fleet in 2019! Ready to enhance your cruise? TUI Explorer will demonstrate the on-going brand commitment to TUI, and will set the benchmark in terms of what modern ships can bring to the table.
