Anthem of the Seas has finally arrived in Southampton. It will be her home port for Summer 2015 replacing Independence of the Seas for only one season. In November this year she will make her way across to her permanent home-port of New York, so you need to get aboard while you can. Anthem of the Seas arrival has got a lot people very excited – well it is not every day that the world’s 3rd biggest cruise ship pulls into the UK.

Anthem of the Seas joins Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-class, a fleet of ships styled as the world’s only ‘smart ships’, due to their innovative technology on-board. Anthem of the Seas boasts pioneering advancements such as – Bionic Bar, robotic screens in Two70, SeaPlex, Florider, North Star, Ripcord and Seaplex – so it’s easy to see why Anthem of the Seas is so smart.
Her maiden voyage takes place on 22nd April 2015 from Southampton to France and Spain, on an 8 night cruise. The lucky guests will be sailing to Vigo, Spain; Gijon, Spain; Bilbao, Spain; and Le Havre (for Paris), France.

Emma Wilby has been named as Anthem of the Seas Godmother, after she won a competition held by Royal Caribbean to find a talented star within the travel industry. The official naming ceremony will take place in Southampton on the 20th April 2015, where Emma will perform Katy Perry’s hit – Firework in front of more than 1,300 special guests and dignitaries. Emma will be joined on-stage by British choir group Only Boys Allowed, so it is sure to be a spectacular occasion. In preparation for the big day Emma will receive professional tutoring from Team Captain of Only Boys Aloud, Craig Yates.

Get to know Anthem of the Seas Godmother a little better

Emma Wilby, 27 from Sunderland who currently lives in the Highlands in Scotland. She works as a Thomson’s travel agent in Elgin Scotland. Emma recently rediscovered her love for singing after joining the Military Wives Choir in Kinloss, Scotland – where she lives with her dog ‘Sirus Black’ and her husband, a Royal engineer in the British Army.
