Exciting news! Cunard have announced that they’ll be making a long-awaited return to Alaska in 2019. It’ll be the first time the cruise line has been to the region in more than two decades, basing Queen Elizabeth in Alaska for the season between May and June 2019. So get ready to explore the natural wonders of Alaska all whilst enjoying the luxurious comforts of one of the grandest ships in the world!
When and where?
Queen Elizabeth will make her journey to Alaska on 5th May 2019 from Yokohama, Japan! She’ll offer four 10-night roundtrip sailings from Vancouver – we can only imagine that these will be in high demand. After completing her season in Alaska, Queen Elizabeth will sail down the west coast of the United States of America, before passing through the iconic Panama Canal and journeying onto Iceland, all before returning to the home shores of the UK.
The highlights of these itineraries include six must-visit ports of call, comprising of navigating the Inside Passage, one of Alaska’s most diverse landscapes and tourist hotspots. The USA’s most scenic state capital Juneau, with its gold rush heritage and stunning surrounding landscape. You’ll also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich history of Alaska and meet the native tribes of Ketchikan, discovering how they’ve survived on this harsh landscape for thousands of years.
