Celebrity cruise singer Jane McDonald will be returning to our screens this Friday, 1st September 2017, with season two of ‘Cruising with Jane McDonald’.

The first series, which launched earlier this year, turned out to be a massive hit – pulling in over 1.8 million viewers per episode. It seems everyone can’t help falling in love with Jane’s bubbly personality, not to mention the fact that this much-loved singer and presenter has carved out a career since appearing in the BBC’s The Cruise documentary series in 1998.

Jane featuring on 1998's The Cruise

When can I tune in?

The second installment of this four-part series launches at 9pm on Channel 5, with Jane firmly believing there is a cruise for everyone – and she’s not going to stop until she’s explored them all. With this in mind, this series will see her go on four different cruise journeys with four different experiences, showing there is certainly something to suit everyone’s taste. She also believes setting sail is easier than ever!

If you watched the first series, you’ll know her musical numbers were iconic. And this series is no different – she’ll have you swaying around your living room wishing you were onboard with her!

The first episode will see Jane onboard the luxurious Viking Sky as she takes her first Scandinavian cruise to Tallinn in Estonia, before heading to St Petersburg, then Helsinki and finally Stockholm. She’s already revealed her favourite port was Stockholm in Sweden, where she visited the ABBA Museum and got the chance at being ‘the fifth member’ of the band.

River cruising at its finest

Next up is France, with the second episode seeing Jane onboard Avalon Poetry II on a river cruise up the Rhône. She has said she simply loved the design of the ship, with its floor-to-ceiling windows that allow you to soak up the stunning scenery.

Her third cruise sees her heading to the Caribbean, which started in Havana, Cuba onboard Celestyal Crystal. You’ll see Jane walking the streets of old Havana, throwing herself into the carnival atmosphere – she even managed to blag her way into a stranger’s house party! After all, the locals are well known for being friendly.

The final episode in the series sees Jane onboard MSC Meraviglia cruising around the Western Mediterranean, taking in the ports of Naples, Messina, Valletta, Barcelona, Marseille and Genoa. With so many cruise ports to stop off at, Jane noticed how much easier boarding and disembarking have become since her early days working on cruise ships. Have you noticed this too?

Jane’s top tips

Jane tells viewers not to worry about exploring the whole ship straight away – find the areas that are important to you first. Her dream celebrity cruise party line up would be Alan Carr, Paul O’Grady and Sarah Millican – you’d be in for a right laugh! Will you be tuning in to watch? We know we will be!
