The Carnival Sunrise dining room

Carnival Cruise Lines has launched its brand new dinner concepts on Carnival Glory this month. The new menus, entitled ‘American Table’ and ‘American Feast’, have been served on the ship since 8th December as part of a pilot programme which will see chefs experiment with the dishes and gauge the reaction of diners so that they can fine-tune the new offering.

The menus will then be introduced to Carnival Liberty, Carnival Inspiration and Carnival Imagination in the New Year, with a full roll-out to the whole fleet in late 2014 and early 2015.

The dishes on offer from both menus are the result of extensive testing and research of previous Carnival diners, so expect a mix of old favourites and exciting new contemporary dishes.

‘American Table’ will be served on most casual nights on board, and offers diners a modern restaurant experience with both familiar and contemporary choices. The menu will offer plenty of variety, with the dishes changing every evening, and some special offerings based on the location of the ship and its ports of call.  For example, when calling at St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the day’s ‘Port of Call’ specials will include dishes such as Tropical Salad of Ripe Mango, Spicy Grilled Chicken Strips, Crispy Carrots and Red and Green Peppers on a Bed of Fresh Greens Drizzled with Tangy Raspberry Vinaigrette, and Island Chicken Curry with Potato Crisps and Sweet and Sour Mango Chutney.

There will also be an accompanying cocktail menu and a wine list to complement the food on offer. For the more adventurous diner, there will be plenty of unusual choices available in the ‘Rare Finds’ menu section, with options such as Spicy Alligator Fritters and Frogs’ Legs Provencal with Herb Butter.

The ‘American Feast’ concept will complement ‘American Table’ and be served in the main dining room on Cruise Elegant nights, which occur once or twice on every journey. The menu will offer an elegant dining experience to guests and include dishes such as Slow Cooked Prime Rib, Broiled Maine Lobster and Miso Marinated Salmon Filet, followed by delicious desserts including Sticky Toffee Brioche with Whipped Crème Fraiche, Chocolate Nib Crunch, Toasted Coconut-Lime and Strawberry Compote.

Carnival Cruise Lines has always taken pride in its on-board dining options, and these new menus are just the latest in the constantly changing and developing food options on board.

The new menus sound truly mouth-watering and we can’t wait to try them! What do you think? Do you plan to try Carnival’s new menus soon? Tell us in the comments below!
