August Cruise of the Month: Explorer of the Seas

Last week kicked off Royal Caribbean International’s limited all-inclusive offer, meaning all drinks and gratuities are free onboard your cruise! In celebration, we’ve decided to nominate one of their recently revamped vessels, Explorer of the Seas, as our Cruise of the Month for August. There are new destinations to explore, more activities to try – including on-deck surfing – and a new, local home port to sail from…

Exploring from your doorstep

Based at Southampton from 2015, Explorer of the Seas will be treating UK cruise fans to new itineraries in Scandinavia, Western Europe and North Africa. Get a continental culture fix with short trips to Bruges and Paris, take a more leisurely tour of the Spanish or Italian Med or do some island-hopping around the incredible volcanic terrain of the Azores and Canary Islands.

The cruise line is also introducing the port of Agadir in Morocco for the first-time next year, so you can have your fill of delicious Moroccan fare and bargain souvenirs at the Grand Souk as well.

Adventure onboard

There’ll be plenty of opportunities for adventure onboard, with Voyager-class features like the ice-skating rink, rock climbing wall and the café-lined Royal Promenade (if you’re more in the market for a stroll).

The latest renovations have amped up the fun, and Explorer of the Seas now has its own FlowRider surf simulator, complete with lessons if you want some practice before you hit those golden Mediterranean beaches!

Days and nights at sea

Entertainment-wise, Royal Caribbean is famous for putting on a good show and with everything from West-End productions like Chicago to ice-shows and even catching a film out on deck as you laze in the pool, the Explorer of the Seas certainly delivers. Add to this the likes of unlimited Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream, upmarket eateries like Italian Portofino and Jade Sushi, as well as some new dining options to be announced very soon, and it looks like this ship will be one of the top choices for no-fly cruises next year.

Everything’s included!

The all-inclusive package just announced by Royal Caribbean also means that you hardly have to worry about your wallet at all during your voyage. If you book now, a family of four can save more than £1200 on a 14-night cruise on Explorer of the Seas! Of course, the offer extends across Royal Caribbean’s grand fleet of 23 ships, so why not take a look at the latest deals to see where else the high seas could take you next year?
