It’s March, spring is on its way and it’s an exciting month for cruise fans, as bookings for Royal Caribbean’s new ship, Anthem of the SeasSM, go on sale! Departing in April 2015, her maiden voyage will take in the best of Western Europe, with the highlights of the Spanish and French coastlines to look forward to.
Not only will Anthem be one of the best-equipped and technologically advanced ships sailing today, but it will be based in Southampton, UK for most of 2015, meaning that British cruise-goers will be able to benefit from its state of the art entertainment venues and facilities without having to set foot on an aeroplane!
Anthem of the SeasSM will make her debut with an 8 night tour of Spain and France in spring 2015. Guests can expect brilliant beaches at Vigo and a snapshot into the life of a former fishing village at Gjion, which retains its characterful cobbled streets and makes a great gateway to the green hills of northern Spain beyond. The Spanish leg of the itinerary finishes at Bilbao, world famous for its art museum, the Guggenheim – worth a stop just for the building itself, which was designed in unique style by Frank Gehry. The cruise comes to a close with a whirlwind tour of romantic Paris, via Le Havres port.
But this is not all you can choose from if you wish to book a trip on Anthem of the SeasSM next year. From short taster cruises in Bruges and Paris to fortnights blissfully sailing around the Mediterranean, these European routes are perfect for catching Europe at its best during the spring and summer months. With longer itineraries calling at the Canary Islands, Mallorca or even beautiful Italian cities such as Rome and Florence, these sailings combine sunshine, sea and cultural escapes for every type of cruise fan.
So what can cruise goers expect from the facilities on the Anthem of the SeasSM? Well, you may have already heard about Royal Caribbean’s Quantum class ships, where you can take part in activities from sky-diving to surfing, and end your days watching equally energetic stage shows at the Two70 – this time with a drink in hand! Anthem of the SeasSM also shares the incredible North Star with its sister ship, Quantum of the Seas – a 360 degree rotating ride which gives an unprecedented view of the high seas from above.
