Taking passengers on a magical Mayan tour, Thomson Cruises’ Mexican Medley is our Cruise of the Month for September. Settling into its new Montego Bay home port in Jamaica this winter, Thomson Dream will return via Falmouth, after visiting Cozumel, Costa Maya and the island of Roatan. Celebrating this tropical itinerary, Thomson Cruises are offering a saving of £75 on bookings over £799 for sailings between 1st November and 31st December 2014. This cruise sounds like the perfect winter warmer to us, so here’s a rundown of what to expect from the Mexican Medley.
New Jamaican home for Thomson Dream
Kicking off your cruise in Montego Bay, you can spend the day sipping rum cocktails and devouring authentic jerk chicken while lazing on the equally appetising beach. Try something different and give yourself a scare at the Rose Hall plantation house where the White Witch herself is said to haunt the hallways. If you prefer to get your kicks elsewhere, head down to the Crocodile Nursery and watch baby crocs get snappy at lunch time. The return journey on your Mexican Medley cruise calls in at Falmouth, where you can take a day trip to Dunn’s River Falls and climb up the 600 feet to the top – but be prepared to get wet!
Mexico cruise highlights
A landscape where crisp white sands and cool, clear waters meet indulgent greens and welcoming villages with warm locals, Cozumel is the first Mexican stop. Scuba diving is a must here, with its vast coral reefs and hidden caves where you will spot loggerhead turtles and angel fish. If you prefer to keep feet on dry land, visit the El Cedral ruins or head to San Gervasio and stumble upon Mayan temples. The next port-of-call is Costa Maya, where you can head into a deep jungle and discover the ancient pyramids. Looking to just monkey around? Then visit the Uyumil Che monkey reserve and help look after adorable (and cheeky!) spider monkeys. Worlds away from the neighbouring bustle of Cancun, it’s a leisurely life on these two oases.
More Thomson Dream itineraries
There are four more new itineraries to choose from on board the Thomson Dream with ports-of-call including edgy and artistic Cuba with Cuban Fusion calling at Havana, and Pride of Panama stopping at San Blas and Puerto Limon, the colonial cities of Panama. If you are looking to avoid the stresses of Christmas by spending it on your favourite ship, Festive Flavours will take you into the joyous celebrations in sun soaked style, by setting off on December 23rd and calling at the Mexican Medley destinations.
It doesn’t take much convincing to swap the drizzly British winter weather for the mystique of Mexico and jammin’ good vibes of Jamaica, so take a look at the CruiseDeals itineraries to remedy the imminent seasonal blues.
