This Month we are focusing on Celebrity Cruises for our Cruise line of the month, offering you an insight into the feel of the liners and what makes each fleet unique. Famed for their motto ‘Discover modern luxury’ – with Celebrity Cruises it’s all about experiencing contemporary cruising with a luxurious edge. They are one of the youngest cruise lines in the industry founded in 1988, they pride themselves on their modern approach to cruising. The signature “Χ” displayed on the funnel of Celebrity ships is the Greek letter chi, for “Chandris” who were the original founders of Celebrity Cruises – A fun fact for nautical based quizzes.
Celebrity has an 11 strong fleet with four classes – Solstice, Millennium, Century and Xpedition. Celebrity will say farewell to Century this year, which is their longest serving ship in the fleet. Her send-off will be celebrated with a 14 night sailing from Singapore on 8th March 2015, travelling to Vietnam and the Philippines.
