Kérkyra town

Located to the West of Corfu town lies the Venetian-built New Fortress, which boasts a network of interesting tunnels and has the most breathtaking views over the harbour. A favourite among holidaymakers, you’ll find the Old Fortress standing mighty and proud over the town. This stunning piece of architecture also acts as a small chapel.  

You’ll be in your element with 37 Greek churches to explore, all with a unique history. Old Town Corfu is also renowned for its fine arts heritage, so keep your eyes peeled for all the wonderful masterpieces dotted around.  

Paleokastritsa

The most mystical hotspot on the island, the bay of Palaiokastritsa is the place in which the legendary Greek king Odysseus disembarked and met Nausicca for the first time – a slice of Greek mythology you won’t be able to resist learning more about.  

This lovely little village is famous in Corfu and has arguably one of the best beaches on the island. The word Paleokastritsa means old fortress and that’s exactly what you’ll find here, along with castles such as the Angelokastro based on the hilltop, caves, local taverns and pebbled beaches. 

And as Corfu is known as the most green of the Greek islands, you can expect millions of olive trees and plenty of countryside surrounding you on your visit to Paleokastritsa – it’s one of the most beautiful destinations in Corfu!  

Sidari Canal D’ Amour

Known as the perfect proposal spot, Sidari Canal D’ Amour is the main attraction in the resort of Sidari. Also known as the ‘Channel of Love’, it’s unique rock formations and narrow canal has drawn people from all over the world to admire its beauty.  

The tradition states, a couple who swims through the canal will get married soon – or for all you ladies out there, if you swim the full canal you’ll find the man of your dreams!  So if you’ve came for a romantic break away, this is the perfect spot to rekindle that romance – or perhaps find new love!

There are also plenty of beautiful covers and peaceful sunbathing spots if swimming the canal doesn’t tickle your fancy. Sidari makes for the perfect scuba diving and snorkeling spot – you’ll also find plenty of shops, restaurants and bars along the promenade. And an adrenaline filled water park is not too far away either!  

St. Spyridon Church

One of the most iconic spots on the island of Corfu, the St Spyridon Church has a wealth of history starting with the Ottoman attacks, when it is said that this one-of-a-kind landmark saved the town of Corfu on multiple occasions.

The church is also the final resting place of the saint, whose remains are kept in a casket inside. The St. Spyridon is a classic example of Venetian architecture with its luxurious golden frames and bell tower dating back to 1620 dominating the town.  

Aqualand

This is the island’s biggest and most popular water park and it’s certainly worth a visit. If you manage to bag yourself more than one day in Corfu, or are looking at a cruise and stay at this destination, then put this wet and wild adventure on your must-visit list!

With over 30 thrilling slides it’s the ultimate day out for you and the whole family. Whilst the adrenaline junkies can take on the ‘Black Hole’, you can soak up the sun pool-side with a nice cold drink in hand. Or grab an inflatable and head down the lazy river for some serious relaxation.  

There’s plenty for your little ones too – there’s fancy splash zones and mini slides all waiting to give your kids the thrill of a lifetime.
